Aerosmith Rockin’ Roller Coaster CLOSED?
Say it isn’t so! The Disney Aerosmith Rockin’ Roller Coaster is CLOSED? Everyone knows someone that has a positive Disney memory to share. Hey, for me, it was first BIG vacation with my then little kids. It was a dream come true to take my small children to Disney. In later years, in 2013, I asked my wife Heidi to marry me the Wishing Well inside the Magic Kingdom, right next to Cinderella’s Castle.
The Disney Aerosmith Rockin’ Roller Coaster
If you’ve NEVER been on this ride at the Walt Disney theme park in Orlando, it would be the fastest limo ride you will ever take. It goes from ZERO to 57 miles an hour in 2.8 seconds. Similar to Space Mountain, this INSIDE ride of speed takes you through a maze of up and down turns, twists, dips and climbs, all awhile listening to LOUD rock music blasted from the speakers inside your ride. You can FEEL the vibrations while experiencing 5 G’s and three inversions.
The Premise
After waiting in line, you find yourself in a recording studio at the fictional G Force Records. On the other side of the glass, is Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler himself, along with his band mates, interacting with you! Of course it’s a filmed version of Steven talking to you, asking for help to get to the concert on time. The band is late, so they ask YOU to drive them. Next you find yourself being led into what looks like a stretch limo. Within a few seconds, BOOM, you blast off from ZERO to 57 MPH in 2,8 seconds!
Will It Come Back?
Disney has never been shy about embracing Steven’s ROCK edge. With Steven’s latest challenges, you can’t argue that Disney may have been spooked enough to do a full rebranding of the ride, much to fan disappointment. But it seems, that is not the case.
According to Disney’s wdwmagic.com:
The Aerosmith-themed rollercoaster closure began on January 8, 2024, and a Disney spokesperson has told WDWMAGIC that it will reopen in the summer of 2024. Disney has also confirmed that the closure is a routine refurbishment, and no changes will be made to the theme.
That’s Rock n Roll
