Boston Ice Cream Museum Is Coming! Is It Serendipity?
When you read the headline: Boston Ice Cream Museum Is Coming, I have to tap the breaks for a minute. A MUSEUM? That means the item on display could be no longer available? A thing of the past? Whoa….!
In this new world of weight loss pens, ok I get the message. We all need to think about what we eat, MOST of the time. But sometimes, when we deserve it (which is always) there is NOTHING, I mean NOTHING better than a cone, more than one scoop of delicious ice cream. Or, how about a Boston brownie sundae?
Ice Cream Trip To New York City
Last July, we took a day trip to New York City. You’d be surprised how easy it can be using the Acela Train. We left early in the morning and got back before midnight. I won’t lie. One of the most fun things we did was take one of those pedicabs rides. It’s the guy on a bike peddling you in a cart, recklessly on a busy, somewhat dangerous streets of New York City. It’s the most exciting, exhilarating, brush with death I have ever experienced. You come within INCHES away from giant buses, (love that exhaust) cabs, Ubers and limos. When the kid driving asked me if I wanted music, I said “no…than….”NEW YOOOOORRRRRRRK, CONCRETE JUNGLE, WHERE DREAMS ARE MADE OFFFFFFF.” Alicia Keys comes BLASTING LOUD out of the speakers as I scream WATCH OUT FOR THAT BUS!!!! “What,” the driver said…..”NEW YORRRRRRRKKKKKKKK.”
Well if you’re reading this, you know we didn’t perish in an Empire State of Mind. We DID arrive at the famous Serendipity 3 restaurant. I had the most delicious $22 dollar ice cream sundae that I had ever tasted. John Cusack would have been proud.
Boston Ice Cream Museum
In some way the Serendipity 3 restaurant could be considered an ice cream museum, as it was used as a back drop for the famous John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale romance film. Well we are getting an ice cream museum of our own in Boston’s historic seaport:
According to Boston 25:
The Museum of Ice Cream is a global brand that provides a multi-sensory experience, like:
A Sprinkle Pool: Each Museum of Ice Cream has a uniquely designed sprinkle pool featuring hundreds of antimicrobial and biodegradable sprinkles-
Fenway Park Inspired Carnival: A fantastical midway that pays homage to Boston’s Fenway Park complete with columns designed to replicate baseball bats and games inspired by the sport-
It arrives next year.
Why wasn’t THAT museum around for MY 6th grade field trip?
