7 Festive And Fun Activities To Add To Your Fall Bucket List
Fall is here my friends. There's the chill in the air. Hoodies. The smell of cinnamon and pumpkin, burning wood, and the crunch of a fresh-picked apple. There's something about fall that makes me want to get out and try new things. It has to be the weather for me. I don't do well in hot and humid weather, so the relief just feels so good to me. And we can't forget Halloween!
Experience all the senses during fall
One of the things that I think makes fall so special is that it engages all the senses higher than any other season. The incredible sights of the fall foliage. Experience the smells of a pumpkin spice latte or hot cider. The tastes are next level with caramel apples, cinnamon, apple cider donuts, or maple anything. Sounds like a crackling bonfire, crunching leaves under your feet, or the cheers of the crowd at a football game. I really love the feel of fall. The touch of a warm fuzzy sweater, the nip in the air. That cozy feeling that has you wanting the season to never end.
Lean into your adventurous side
There are so many adventurous things you can do during the fall. Now adventure doesn't have to be zip-lining or doing a mud run. Adventure is all about new ideas and experiences. That could mean anything you haven't done before. Cook something new for Thanksgiving. Carve a pumpkin. Hang out with friends at a bonfire. That may not sound adventurous, but for me it would be. I sat around a campfire before, but never a big huge bonfire. I may have to add that to my fall bucket list.
Your fall bucket list
It's now officially fall, and I would recommend you make your own fall bucket list. You can also get some ideas of things to do with kids in New England HERE. Need some inspiration? Here you go.
Host a Murder Mystery Party
Celebrate the spooky season by hosting a murder mystery dinner party with your favorite ghouls and goblins. You can create your own story or purchase a murder mystery game to plan your evening around. Happy haunting!
Host an halloween horror movie night
If you're into that type of thing...I am not...then you might want to host a Halloween horror movie night. Here's a list of Rotten Tomatoes Top 10 Scariest Horror movies.
1. The Exorcist
2. Hereditary
3. The Conjuring
4. The Shining
5. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
6. The Ring
7. Halloween (1978)
8. Sinister (2012)
9. Insidius (2010)
10. It (2017)
Get some festive fall nails
Some people go all out with their nail designs, including holidays. Get inspired with some festive and fun, or creepy and crawly, nail designs.
Plan a "Scary Scavenger Hunt"
Scavenger hunts are always a lot of fun. Here's an idea for one with a scary twist. So get your friends together for a creepy and fun night!
Make a "Boo Basket"
What's boo basket? Well, there are a couple interpretations. One I've seen in creating fall/halloween care packages and delivering them to people in need, or someone who could use a pick-me up. The other is to make something special for the partner in your life. Your boo! Really they can be for anyone: kids, family, friends. Either way, I love the name and love the idea.
Build a scarecrow
Get some hay and build your own scarecrow. Why not host a party with a contest for the best creation. Family and/or friend groups could do it together as a team and go all out with a certain theme, or even favorite characters. Sky's the limit!
Set up a Fall/Halloween tree
Trees aren't just for Christmas! Why not set up that tree with a Halloween or fall theme. And don't forget the lights!
