Check Out the Flutie Foundation 25th Anniversary Concert
The Flutie Foundation 25th Anniversary Concert is coming this summer. It’s star-studded, and all for a great cause.
If you’re not up to speed, the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism has been “Helping People Affected by Autism Live Life to the Fullest” since 1998. That last bit is in quotes because it’s the slogan on the front page of their website. From their About Us page: “Our Mission: To help people and families affected by autism live life to the fullest. Our Vision: A world where people with autism lead productive lives where they are included, respected, and actively engaged in their communities.”
To this end, fewer organizations do better than theirs does. I can speak from experience, as children close to me have benefitted from the Foundation’s programming over the years. Every summer, the Flutie Watersports Program runs from June through August, headquartered at Malibu Beach. We found out about it years ago and were able to introduce a kiddo on the spectrum to his first experiences paddleboarding and kayaking. The Flutie Jr. Foundation makes these experiences accessible, inclusive, and fun.

To celebrate the quarter-century mark, the Foundation is bringing their STARS of the Spectrum 25th Anniversary Concert to Fenway park on Thursday, August 24. It’s an inclusive family event featuring autism self-advocate performers and special guests. And a few of them are pretty big names in Boston music. Get the details and see the full lineup here.
And the best part? Families affected by autism can get free tickets by using this link. So if you have someone in the autism community in your family, mark it down on your calendar and grab those tickets. And if you know someone who you think would enjoy the event, feel free to pass it along!
