The kids are going back to school soon and I’ve come up with some items that you and your family must have to make it as smooth as possible. From items to keep you and your family organized to clothing to dinner prep, check out our back to school essentials below.

  • Hall Tree

If you and your family don’t have a built-in mudroom with a storage system, you need to grab a hall tree, quick!  This has literally been a lifesaver for our family. Gone are the days of everyone coming in and just dropping their bags, shoes, and sports equipment at the front door! This hall tree is built to last with hardwood and veneer construction and beautiful hardware. This one comes with 4 double hooks, two upper storage cabinets and one lower with a seating bench for ease when getting your shoes on!

  • Dry Erase Weekly Calendar

If you’re like our family and many others we all have a lot going on!  This dry erase weekly calendar keeps everyone’s schedule front and center for all to see.  Put mom and dad’s work schedules, doctor appointmentskids’ activities, and birthdays all in one place.  Yes, there are plenty of apps out there that do this, but some still need to see it when we walk by the fridge!  We love this one as it comes with 10 magnetic decals, 3 markers, and an eraser.

  • Customized Labels

Oh my gosh, these are an immediate cart add. These customized labels come with 88 labels in extra small, small and mini round labels and can be used on shoes, lunch boxes, school supplies, and even clothes. These are also waterproof and safe for the dishwasher, microwave, freezer, and dryer.

  • 1st Day of School Necklace

I see this trend every year and this may just have to be the year I do it. I think these are the sweetest, grab a mother and daughter necklace set and give it to her the night before her first day of school. Let her know that no matter where, no matter what you’re always with her. There’s one for you too and such a cute reminder that you’ll always have each other.

  • Ultimate Fidget Pack

Back to school can be super stressful for some kids and fidgets can help to ease anxiety for them. Grab this ultimate fidget pack with 54 fidgets! Give them a couple to take to school and still have extras for rewards or for them to trade with friends. This 54-piece set includes a pop it, a DNA ball, marble mesh, bicycle chain, acupressure rings, fidget pad, infinity cube, pea poppers, wacky tracks, and a dimple. All the best fidgets in one set!

  • Kids Bento Style Lunch Boxes

This lunch box is BPA-Free, dishwasher safe, and perfect portion sizes for kids 3 to 7. It comes in a variety of different colors for both boys and girls. Keeps your child’s meals and snacks mess-free with leak-proof technology.  For the rough little ones like my son, it’s made with drop-proof durable, rubber-coated edges for protection.

  • Simple Modern Water Bottles

It’s almost back to school time, and Simple Modern water bottles are the best! My kids love them and always keep their water cold all day at school. Available in a variety of colors and sizes.

  • OSMO Genius Starter Kit for iPad

This genius starter kit is perfect for the kids. My kids use their Osmo games for hours at a time. This is a great deal and comes with lots of educational games for ages 6-10 including math, spelling, and creativity.

  • The Surf Portable Lap Desk

As I talk to more and more teachers, they are encouraging alternate places for kids to learn than always making them sit at their desks. So, why not do the same at home. This versatile portable lap desk allows your kids to use their laptops wherever they want; floor, couch, chair, even outside on the steps or at the park. This one uses the weight of your body to keep it upright and travels easily too.  Wait, it’s suitable for kids, teens, and adults…that means I may be getting one for me and my husband too!

  • Chargers and chargers and more chargers!

We never have enough chargers in our house and everyone seems to borrow them but never returns them. This charging station is a great solution. Grab one of these charging stations where you can charge all of your devices in one place.  It’s a beautiful natural bamboo color that can charge up to six devices at once.  The large base allows you to hide all the cords and keeps everything looking nice and neat.

  • Blue Light Blocking Glasses for Kids

These have been so helpful for me as I’m in front of the computer all day, even my daughter borrows them. So why not get them a pair of their own. With more and more schoolwork being done on computers, every kid should have some. These are good not only for computer time but any screen time.  Blue light can cause eyes to lose focus, dry eye, blurred vision, and headaches so protect your little one’s eyes with a pair of blue light glasses.

  • Vinyl Stickers

This is nothing new, kids have been putting stickers on their belongings since I was a kid. Except now they’ve traded their trapper keepers and caboodles for their laptops and water bottles. These high-quality vinyl stickers are waterproof, come in a variety of patterns and sets. These stickers can add that pop you need to your back-to-school items.

  • Smart Watch to Keep Track of Them

At any age, it’s hard to see your kids go back to school. Especially when they are younger…that age before they have cell phones. You have constant contact with them and then poof you can’t talk to them until they get home from school. This has some of us worrying more than others, especially in this day and age. Grab a smartwatch today, with limited uses. Your child can call, text, video call, and be GPS tracked. There is a companion app that allows parents to manage, monitor, and communicate with their children as well as who can communicate with them. And to make it even better, it can track their steps too!

  • Stitch Fix Subscription For Everyone

One of the things I dread the most about back to school is clothes shopping because of our picky little ones!  As they get older and have opinions on what they wear, it starts becoming not so fun for us all!  Why not try a Stitch Fix subscription for the whole family.  You can do them once a month, every 3 months, or even every six!  This would be a great option to add for the family after the initial back-to-school shopping haul as it will provide lots of the newest and hottest items right at your doorstep!

  • Air Fryer

The last item and this one is for the mamas!weeknight lifesaver, the air fryer!  If you don’t have one, get it now. Not only can you make quick food for the kiddos and the rest of the family, but it’s a little bit healthier and delicious! It’s such an easy product to use with the digital touch screen and rapid cooking times. Weeknight dinners have never been so quick and easy.
