Before you answer the question–what’s the best Boston holiday that’s not a holiday–I should probably explain what I’m talking about.
If you’re just joining us, this is the 12-Inch Poll. Yes, the double entendre is on purpose. We’re a rock station. And while I strive to make ROCK 92.9 a welcoming, inclusive community where all are welcome, we’re still a rock station. So we work blue from time to time. It’s in our DNA. Take the 3-Way @ 3, for example: that’s a TRIPLE entendre! Three song set, sexual innuendo, roast beef sandwich reference. Also, have you heard our morning show, Dave & Chuck the Freak?
Anyway, as I’m erecting this week’s 12-Inch Poll (there I go again), it’s mid-April. Patriots’ Day/Marathon Monday is days away. One of my favorite days of all to spend in the city. Sure, the weather can be a crapshoot. It is mid-April in New England, after all. But there’s a festive magic to Marathon Monday in Boston that’s hard to find on other days in the city or on any day in any other city. Obviously, 2013 is worthy of note for a completely different reason. But that’s not what we’re talking about for this week’s Poll.
What’s the Best Boston Holiday That’s Not a Holiday?
Technically, Patriots’ Day is a holiday for most people. But for the sake of the Poll, we’re referring to it as Marathon Monday. Is that your favorite non-holiday holiday to spend in the city? Or are you more of a Red Sox Opening Day lover? Or maybe it’s St. Patrick’s Day for you? Those are a few of the options you have for this week’s edition of the 12-Inch Poll. Take a look at them all below, vote for your favorite, and feel free to share your thoughts on ROCK 92.9’s Facebook or Twitter.
