What's a thousandaire? Well, hopefully YOU are! Rock Your Bank Account is back, so let's start fantasizing about spending beaucoup bucks.
For the uninitiated, Rock Your Bank Account comes to ROCK 92.9 twice a year. First in the spring, then again in the fall, the national contest gives you multiple opportunities to win $1000 over multiple weeks.
It works like this: you listen to ROCK 92.9 weekdays at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. during Dave & Chuck the Freak. Then at 12:05 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. with Adam 12. Then, finally, at 5:05 p.m. with Hardy. That's five shots every weekday.
Each time you tune in, you'll be given a keyword. You can text the keyword to 45911, punch it in on our free app, or enter it in here. Doesn't matter how you do it, just do it in the window provided. Once you do, you're in the running to win $1000.

What's a Thousandaire? 7 Fun Ways to Drop Big Cash in Boston
So now that we've laid it all out, let's pretend you're a $1000 winner. You could do the responsible thing and pay some bills or pay down some debt. You could even donate the money to a worthy local cause.
Or you could do the irresponsible thing and burn through that grand. Think about it. The possibilities are endless. But since we're Boston's ROCK 92.9, I'm keeping things Boston-centric. Or Boston-area centric.
Below you'll find a lucky seven list of options for blowing that sweet, sweet moolah. And they're all things you can do in or around Boston. Or things you can purchase in or around Boston.
So good luck with Rock Your Bank Account. I hope the answer to "What's a thousandaire?" really is you. And I hope that, even if you don't use one of the ideas on my list, that it inspires you to do something fun with the money you've won.
1) Buy 100 Pints Of Beer
The average pint of craft beer in the Boston metro will run you about $9. Throw in a $1 per pint and it's $10. $1000 will get you 100 pints. So you'd better bring a few friends along. I recommend Hannah's, the new Brewery in Melrose.
2) Grab A Pair Of Pearl Jam Tickets
Pearl Jam is playing two at Fenway in September. Average ticket price? $345 a pop. A pair of tickets, parking, concessions, and merch, if you go all out? Probably around a thou.
3) Ditch Boston For The Beach
Drive due north from Boston for about an hour and a half and you'll end up in Ogunquit. It's the only New England beach that made the Top 25 of this prestigious list. You can get a really nice room at the Norseman Resort for around $200 a night, so make a long, long weekend out of it.
4) Splurge On Some Vintage Concert Tees
I recently shared pics of a whole bunch of my vintage band tees from the late '90s and early '00s. No, they're not for sale. But the Vintage Underground on Comm. Ave. has lots of shirts like them for sale. $1000 could go a long way.
5) Fix Your Boston Accent
Depending on who you talk to, the Boston accent is varying levels of attractive and/or annoying. If yours is more of the latter, consider using your newfound wealth to hire former Boston radio personality Loren Raye to help you take the edge off.
6) Expand Your Record Collection
Record albums are big right now. For example, Aerosmith's Get Your Wings just turned 50. You can get an original pressing, VG rated on eBay, for around $15. So for $1000? You could get a grip of great old records.

7) Join The Celtics Playoff Push
ROCK 92.9 is your radio home of the Boston Celtics...sometimes. They've locked down the best record in the NBA, so the path to the Finals will go through Boston. If you're savvy with your grand, you could get to a few games.
