After Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson left the door open to a future presidential run, Twitter had split reactions to the idea. Johnson, 50, said he’s been “blown away” by the calls for him to launch a White House bid, but maintained that his focus at the moment is raising his family. The Black Adam star told CNN in an interview Tuesday (October 11), “I’m just really grounded and humbled by the interest on both sides. But the number one job, and my number one title, that I love right now is daddy.”
Asked if that meant he was running for president down the line, Johnson left the door open. “I have seriously considered it. You have to. When you start looking at some of these polls, and these numbers creep up into the 46%, 50% of the country would vote for me should I run, and I have been – I’ve been really moved by that,” he said. “I mean, truly, it sat me down.” One poll from 2021 found 58% of Americans would have liked to see Johnson as the next president of the United States. In the same poll, 58% said they would support actor Matthew McConaughey.
Though he is moved by the support, the former WWE superstar said, “I don’t know anything about politics. I will say that I am a patriot and I love our country and I love everybody in it, regardless of color or culture. Don’t care what your bank account says or what kind of car you drive.”

Johnson said his most important job right now is “daddy, “taking care of his two little girls: Jasmine Lia, 6, and Tiana Gia, 4, with his wife Lauren Hashian. Johnson also has a 21-year-old daughter, Simone Alexandra, from a previous marriage to Dany Garcia.
Last week (October 7), Johnson told CBS Sunday Morning that running for president is now “off the table” because it requires “the B-side to this.” He went on to say being a daddy is so important in this “critical time” in his daughters’ lives because he knows what it’s like to be too busy on the road and being “absent for a lot of years” in his first daughter’s life. “That’s what the presidency will do,” he concludes.
A real pleasure sitting with @thattracysmith.

Always humbling and I’m so grateful to see polls and be asked about running for President.
But I want to raise my daughters, be there as their father and never be absent.
These are the critical years.
