As we all process the heartbreaking news of the death of Taylor Hawkins, we offer you this moment of joy from happier times.
Back in 2006, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders were the special guest band for the finals of the WBCN Rock ‘n’ Roll Rumble. Before their set at the Middle East Downstairs, I interviewed Taylor and bassist Chris Chaney…with a little help from Boston legend Robbie Roadsteamer.
The interview, shared below in four parts, does a fine job not only capturing that era of rock, but Taylor’s humor, heart, and spirit. To say he’ll be missed would be a gross understatement.
