2 men with the same name joined forces for a crime spree in the United Kingdom! Now, 2 men with the same name have been booked into jail.

You have to admit, it would be pretty cool to find someone with your same name. Then, it would be a wild experience if the 2 of you went on a crime spree together. Bonnie and Clyde would be much more popular if it was Bonnie and Bonnie or Clyde and Clyde doing the crimes. Now, will the name Bernie McDonagh live in infamy? Probably not.

Did 2 Men With The Same Name Go On A Crime Spree In Ireland?

Their crime spree ended with their arrest. However, it was a 10 day spree and it sounds like they took a lot of items from houses in Ireland. First, let’s meet the 2 Bernies. There’s 56-year-old Bernie McDonagh of Romford and there’s 35-year-old Bernie McDonagh from Coventry. Now, the pair has been sentenced to a combined 6 years and 9 months in jail.

DI Alan Hands of Warwickshire Police tells the Irish Post, “The McDonaghs were of the opinion that they could go from house to house across the country and take what they liked, when they liked, without any repercussions.” What they stole during their spree includes a 55-inch TV, 6 watches, and more jewelry. They hit several different spots and homes during their crime spree. Many of these crimes were captured on CCTV camera and surveillance cams. They were often seen leaving or entering the properties while driving a black Lexus and that seems to connect all of their crimes. It sounds like they would use various methods to break and enter into the homes to steal stuff.

DI Hands tells the Irish Post, “They used the same car each time and were caught on CCTV repeatedly, indicating that they took very little care in trying to remain unseen. It has been a pleasure for us to bring this little piece of reality to them through this prison sentence, and to give the victims of these burglaries the reassurance that they have been suitably punished for their crimes.” You can see the mugshots of Bernie McDonagh and Bernie McDonagh provided by Warwickshire Police below.
