2 Florida cities were named among the best for recreation in the country! So, which 2 ended up making the list?

It’s summer and it’s a great time to get out and experience the outdoors. July is even National Parks and Recreation Month! However, some cities in the USA are better than others when it comes to outdoor recreation. Which cities are best for recreation? Find out below!

What Cities Are The Best For Recreation?

WalletHub recently set out to find the most recreation friendly cities in the country. To do this, they compared 100 of the largest U.S. cities across 47 key indicators. Those indicators include: cost of recreational activities, weather, and quality of parks.

In the end, 2 cities from the state of Florida made the Top 10. That’s more than any other state. According to WalletHub, Las Vegas, Nevada was named the best city for recreation. It sounds like there are a lot of playgrounds in Las Vegas which helped it become number one. Additionally, the weather is usually nice and sunny which can help you want to get outside. There’s also great hiking, golf, and outdoor activities.

Next, Orlando, Florida and Tampa, Florida came in 2nd and 3rd on WalletHub’s list. That could have been expected. The weather in Florida is warm year-round which means you have to have stuff for people to do. Given that tourism is one of the biggest industries in the state, that’s nothing to worry about. Cincinnati, Ohio came in 4th on WalletHub’s list and Honolulu, Hawaii closed out the Top 5. I get the Hawaii, but Cincinnati was a bit of a surprise at number 4. Sure, it has more mild weather than a Detroit or Cleveland, but when you think out great outdoor cities, you don’t think of Cincinnati.

As for the bottom of the list, WalletHub‘s research found Chula Vista and Oakland California to be the worst cities in the country for recreation. That came as a surprise because you’d think California would be all about outdoor recreational activities. You’ve got hiking, sports, and more! The weather is nearly perfect in California! However, cost was a part of their indicators so that likely played a part here.
