North Carolina Man Steals Cable Company Truck With Worker In The Bucket
A North Carolina man reportedly stole a cable company truck with a worker in the bucket! Can you imagine how scary that would be?
That would absolutely be the worst time for someone to steal your vehicle. You’re high up there and there’s nothing you can do but hope that the person who stole the cable company truck is a good driver. It sounds like they were not.
Did A Man In North Carolina Steal A Cable Company Truck?
Vehicles being stolen is unfortunately quite common. It happens all the time in cities across the world. It happens in nice neighborhoods and it happens in bad neighborhoods. People will have their luxury sports cars stolen and their old beaters. Apparently, even a cable company truck is at risk of being stolen these days!
According to WSOC-TV, a major highway in Caldwell County reopened more than 12 hours after someone stole and crashed a Spectrum bucket truck–with a worker still reportedly in the bucket repairing a line! Thankfully, the worker was reportedly attached to a safety harness because at one point he actually came out of the bucket and was suspended in the air by his safety strap! It probably saved his life! Eventually, the worker was able to free himself from the harness to remove himself from the vehicle, which did injure his leg, per WSOC-TV.
The suspect who took the cable company truck was later identified as Frank Moody and he was taken into custody. According to WSOC-TV, Moody has been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle, and felony injuring wires and fixtures of utility companies. That’s a lot of charges! Turns out, Moody is no stranger to getting in trouble with the law. WSOC-TV reports that he was released from jail just 2 hours before the incident! He was previously locked up after being arrested on a different larceny case. The highway had to shutdown for several hours to make repairs from the stolen cable company truck.
You can see Moody’s mugshot provided by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office below. Does he look familiar to you?
He looks like the old man from Home Alone! Sick chain, though. Didn’t expect that. Good thing that the worker up in the bucket didn’t end up with any serious injuries. That had to have been incredibly scary up there! I can’t even imagine.
