A woman in Pennsylvania is now dealing with a hairy nose after suffering a serious dog bite. She’s now opening up and sharing some hurdles in her recovery.
Yes, dogs can be man’s best friend. However, it’s important to remember to be safe around them and use caution. They can be cute and friendly–but they can also bite off your nose! Unfortunately, this woman learned that the hard way.

Unfortunately, dog bites and attacks happen. Of course, there are factors and variables that go into it and it doesn’t mean your dog is going to bite your nose off. It’s just something to be aware of. Putting your face in front of a dog’s face can lead to some problems, especially if they aren’t ready or expecting it.
According to The New York Post, Trinity Rowles, of Pennsylvania, was attacked by her dad’s rescue dog, Irish, in September of last year. Since then, the 20-year-old has reportedly had 4 surgeries and is expected to get at least 6 more on her face. One of those procedures, a skin graft, has left her with a noticeable change on her face. The skin graft took skin from her upper forehead and scalp and was used to replace skin that was removed during the bite and surgery. However, because of where the hair came from she’s now growing hair out of the skin on her reconstructed nose, per The New York Post!
The New York Post reports that Irish, a Pitbull-Bulldog mix, bit off the end of Trinity’s nose, bit her arm, and dragged her onto the ground. She claims the vicious act was out of character for the dog who she seems to have known well. There are pictures of them posing together online in which they are very close together and it doesn’t appear to be an issue. She tells The New York Post, “Irish was my dad’s rescue dog. He’d had him for about five years and he was like a great big teddy bear. He was so lovable and really soft. I would always go around and see him, and I even looked after him when my dad was out of town.” So, how did we end up here? It sounds like dog might have gone into protective mode looking after his owner.
According to The New York Post, Trinity and her dad got into an argument that day which created a heated environment which could have triggered the attack. When she tried to walkaway from the argument with her dad, that’s when the dog attacked. Now, Trinity is left with facial changes that are life-altering and PTSD after the incident. Irish was put down at the scene. See images and video of the dog bite and her recovery below.
