Van Narrowly Avoids Disaster After Crashing Into Barricades Of A Toledo Bridge
Driving over bridges can be scary. Even driving near bridges can remind you how scary it can be. They are high up there and we’ve seen bad things happen on bridges. You never know what could happen. One person came a little too close for comfort to finding out how that goes after they crashed into barricades of a Toledo bridge at its highest point.
A witness recorded video from the scene that ended up going viral. According to 13 ABC, that man says, “He hit the wall like twice before I started recording. Then, everybody started calling the police. Then, me and another vehicle like tried to stop all the cars behind us from like passing.”
The incident had already happened by the time he got his phone out to record. Per 13 ABC, he continued, “Well, when he passed me on the highway, I seen him the first time when he passed me on the highway, before I started recording anything. Like, he was speeding at first. Then, he started swerving real bad. Then, that’s when the car next to me, we both like honked at each other and turned our hazards on. Once he hit the side wall, we thought, like, everybody thought he was about to go over into the water, but…yeah, it was crazy.”
The bridge on I-280 in Toledo, Ohio reaches 130 feet above the Maumee River. That’s high up there and you do not want to fall from that height. According to 13 ABC, the van has a Bambinos Pizza logo on the side and the owner of the pizza company had no comment. No other vehicles were involved and the man did not appear to be injured. There’s still no word on why the van swerved and hit the barricades repeatedly, per 13 ABC.
