Kit Kat Drops A New Limited-Edition Summer Time Flavor
Brands are almost always introducing limited-edition products. It creates a sense of urgency and exclusivity for the consumer. Recently, the Kit Kat brand has done it again. They just debuted a new limited-edition summer flavor, the pink lemonade flavor bar. The company described the new flavor in a news release as “crisp wafers wrapped in a pink lemonade flavored creme – this new flavor delivers a refreshing taste experience with unexpected hints of strawberry.”
The bar was designed to cater to the tastes of Gen Z and Millennials, as the brand says that more than 93% of these consumers express a preference for pink lemonade-flavored treats.
The new flavor is available nationwide in standard and king sizes. The limited-edition pink lemonade flavor bar joins the brand’s other unique flavors including Chocolate Frosted Donut, Mint + Dark Chocolate, Birthday Cake, and others.
Just last month, the brand partnered with Krispy Kreme. The donut company introduced three new Kit Kat donuts. The flavors focused on “bringing out the flavors of the classic chocolate bar.” These flavors included the Kit Kat Crunch Donut, Kit Kat Cookie Dream Donut, and Kit Kat Salted Caramel Brownie Donut.
A few years back, some fans of the brand took to Reddit to celebrate a similar flavor, Lemon Crisp. “You guys ever had those Girl Scout lemon cookies? Imagine that as a candy,” one person said. Another person said, “These are delicious.”
So, Kit Kat may be onto something with this new limited-edition flavor.
In other limited-edition food news, Star Wars fans will soon have another movie-themed treat to snack on. Oreos announced limited edition Star Wars Oreos. PEOPLE reported that there are two versions of the specialty cookie sets. One represents the dark side of the Force and the other corresponds with the light side. But both sets have identical packaging, so fans won’t know which “side” they have until they peel open the container.
The packaging pays homage to the series’ history and fan base. Illustrations of the beloved characters surround a massive Oreo with red and blue Lightsabers sticking out behind it. The character illustrations are the original, hand-painted artwork from illustrator Greg Hildebrandt, who has been a Star Wars poster artist since 1977. Below the Star Wars and Oreo logos, the package reads, “Dark Side or Light Side Open to Discover Your Destiny.”
The limited-time packs will be available for presale online on May 30 and at retailers nationwide starting June 10.
