There's a new study out on dating apps that claims men are making a HUGE mistake on their profiles: They're talking about SPORTS too much. This also includes guys that were lucky enough to get match with someone. When it comes to first dates men should stop talking about sports and start talking more about this instead. There are some women that are sports lovers too, but mostly they want to talk about anything but sports. They're more interested in talking about other things instead.
For guys on first dates be sure to be ready to bring more to the table than your passion for your favorite teams. Think broader, like what your hobbies are and the things you like to do other than watch sports on tv and go to games.
Of course you also want to be a good listener and show interest in what your date is into as well. It shouldn't be an interview of both parties but rather a conversion that goes back and forth in an easy and light manner.
Regarding Dating Apps to get the first dates
There's nothing wrong with listing hobbies like playing or watching sports, or sharing sports-related anecdotes on dates if that's what you're interested in.
But if you're trying to stand-out to a potential partner, you should include a DIVERSE set of hobbies and interests, including ones that might appeal more to another person, or that you'd like to do WITH that other person.
According to the data, the top five interests for men on Tinder are: Football or soccer . . . sports . . . lifting weights . . . bars . . . and comedy.
Meanwhile, the top five interests for women are: Travel . . . music . . . movies . . . coffee . . . and walking. And only 4% of women mentioned football, compared to 23% of men.
The results may seem a little sexist . . . but they're apparently based on actual profiles . . . so it's a "fact" that male singles are more obsessed with sports and female singles are more intrigued by the arts and long walks on the beach.
The area where there's the most overlap is: "Fitness" and "workouts."
You can see that there is a vast difference between what men and women put on their profiles regarding their interests. There isn't a lot crossover when it comes to shared interests, so guys, bring more to the table and get ready to dive into more cultural topics and get out of your safe zone of non-stop sports talk.

There are romantic restaurants, museums, parks, walking/hiking trails and so much more. But this post will not be tackling any of those places. Nope, not this time. Every city has places that no one should go when they're looking for romance. In Boston, we definitely will mention the infamous "Mass and Cass" area of the city which as most know, is a drug infested area where many live who are very sadly victims of addiction. Yes, it's a sad area and one you would or should NEVER take a first date. There are dozens more and we have gone through all the suggestions and picked our favorite 13.
Honorable mentions include, strip clubs (all of them in general not just one specifically). Other honorable mentions include the MBTA (orange line specifically), others also mentioned funerals for some reason. The McDonald's on Mass Ave specifically was mentioned several times. This is mostly because it's located right across from the infamous "Mass and Cass" area previously mentioned.
