Snoop Dogg will not be joining the rest of the inductees for this year's Songwriters Hall of Fame due to personal reasons, the rapper states Billboard reports. Snoop has decided to defer his induction and be nominated for next year's class.

He follows Sade Adu, who also withdrew from this year's SHOF and will be honored in the next class as well. The nominees were announced Jan. 13, and the other five inductees are still on board. Glen Ballard, Gloria Estefan, Jeff Lynne, Teddy Riley, and Liz Rose will be honored.

In addition, Tim Rice will be honored with the Johnny Mercer Award, and Post Malone will receive the Hal David Starlight Award. According to SHOF, the latter award "was established to honor gifted songwriters who are at an apex in their careers and are making a significant impact in the music industry via their original songs."

The 52nd annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner takes place tonight (Jun. 15) at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

Snoop recently made headlines after admitting that his 1995 Grammy loss for "Gin and Juice" did "hurt" his feelings but a fellow rapper softened the blow.

"Queen Latifah approached me about that song," Snoop Dogg explained in a snippet from his unreleased audiobook From The Streets To The Suites. "Me and her was nominated for a Grammy for [‘Gin and Juice’] against 'U.N.I.T.Y.' She won and I was hurt, but she was like, 'N----, I love 'Gin and Juice.' That’s my favorite s---.’ So then I got unhurt fast."

He added: "You know a muthaf---- get hurt ’cause he lose and s---. But I’m like, damn this is the Queen, n----. Bow down. This is the muthaf-----’ queen, and she told me that. She said: 'But, I love 'Gin and Juice,' that’s my favorite s---.' So I was like you know what? I can take that L."
