Summer in New England. Lake swimming, body surfing, mountain hiking, cook-outing, beer drinking...there's no finer season. But is it better with or without facial hair?
Every year, on October 1, I start growing a beard. I keep it all fall and winter, then shave it off on April Fool's Day. This year, though, I regretted my spring shave instantly and started growing the beard back. It didn't help that my 10-year-old daughter, who loves my beard, started calling me "small face" and "rat face." I can't blame her; she was right.
So here I am, on the cusp of summer, with about a month's growth on my face. And I've never had a beard in the summer, so help me out: should I let it go? Or *Elsa voice* LET IT GOOOOOO...
