Welcome to another edition of Today in Boston ROCK, where I, Adam 12, spotlight Very Important Days In Rock History. May 4th is one.

1955

May 4, 1955: Robert Alan Deal is born in Terre Haute, Indiana. You know him as Mick Mars, lead guitarist and co-founder of Motley Crue. Let's listen to the man himself shredding onstage in Boston back in 1984.

1972

May 4, 1972: Michael Ryan Prichard is born in El Sobrante, CA. He is Mike Dirnt, who makes the bass guitar go "dirnt, dirnt, dirnt" for Green Day. And here he is doing just that in a fan-shot video from Fenway Park last month.

2012

May 4, 2012: Adam Nathaniel Yauch, AKA MCA from the Beastie Boys, dies at the age of 47. It doesn't fee like it's been 10 years.

May the 4th be with you!

More Bonus Beats!

No, really: MAY THE 4th BE WITH YOU!
