The humble beginnings of this beloved event started as an agricultural and horticultural gathering way back in 1862. It’s main goals were to “educated, develop, improve and promote their arts and related fields,” according to their website. It was originally called the South Marshfield Farmer’s Club. Those goals, and far beyond, continue every August through the annual Marshfield Fair. Today it’s known as a great family event that offers something for everyone, from carnival rides to farm animals, horticultural exhibits to live music.
