It's still VERY much winter in our neck of the woods. So there's still plenty of time to pay a visit to these 7 New England ski resorts.

Ski Magazine actually released their last back on October. Which makes sense, seeing as it's titled The Best Ski Resorts in the U.S. Here in New England, come October, all were seeing is our favorite mountains posting videos on IG of their snowmaking equipment getting a test-run. Out west in October, some resorts in the Rocky Mountains are already open and running lifts.

We'll leave the west to the westerners, though. This is a celebration of the New England mountains that made Ski Magazine's cut this year. We plaster our SKI THE EAST stickers on the bumpers of our Subarus with pride around these parts. Because we know you're not a true mountain maven if you don't know how to skirt an ice patch on your skis or push your way through some corn snow on your board.

While we're on the subject, if you're reading this before March 3, we're in the final rounds of our King of the Hills bracket. We started with 64 New England ski resorts and areas. All six states had mountains in the mix, even Rhode Island! No, they didn't make it out of the first round. But you can see who did and cast your vote to help crown the king right here.

The 7 New England Ski Resorts That Made Ski Magazine's Best Of List

Now, here's a question: how does the Elite 8 in our King of the Hills bracket stack up against the 7 New England mountains on the Ski Magazine Best of 2023 list? Let's take a look and see where they overlap. You can get the rest of the mountains on Ski Magazine's list here.

16) Magic Mountain, VT

It really does look magical, doesn't it?

14) Waterville Valley

Waterville just missed making our Sweet 16. That view is still sweet, though.

12) Jay Peak

Jay made the Sweet 16! And they're closing in on 250 inches for the season!

8) Mad River Glen

Ski it if you can! No snowboarders; sorry.

6) Killington

They barely squeeked by Attitash to make our Final 4. Will they win it all?

4) Bretton Woods

The Woods lost a close one to Sugarbush and missed out on the Final 4.

2) Smuggler's Notch

Smugg's got beat by Sunday River, so they stalled out in our Elite 8.
