If you’re a fan of the show Friends, you’re going to want to hear this news. A Friends Central Perk coffeehouse is getting ready to open in Boston! Central Perk was the main hangout for Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Monica, Chandler and Joey where they would get waited on from Gunther. The “friends” would spend time drinking coffee and gossiping. In fact, it’s been reported how much money each character spent on a hot beverage at Central Perk over the years. Phoebe was the queen because over the 10 seasons she bought a whopping 226 cups of tea and coffee during her Central Perk visits, which racked up to a whopping $892.70.
The actual Central Perk was not a real life coffeehouse. Central Perk is part of an LA soundstage, built specifically for the show. There is however a “Friends” type experience you can partake on in New York where there is a coffeehouse called The Little Owl. It’s located in Greenwich Village and tickets for it run for around $50. But coming soon to Boston, you won’t have to pay $50 for an experience to live like your favorite characters. The new Central Perk is a collaboration with Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and CenPer Holdings, LLC. CenPer Holdings LLC home to American celebrity chef Tom Colicchio who helped inspire the Central Perk menu which will have some hilarious items on it that will pay homage to the iconic TV show.
