It’s an embarrassment of riches. Three Boston rock shows in April, all at the same venue, all within days of each other.
I mean, it’s always an embarrassment of riches when it comes to live music on ROCK 92.9. At last count, we had over two dozen shows coming to the Boston area in 2024 that we’re giving tickets away to. Big shows at Fenway Park this summer, outdoor events at Xfinity Center and Leader Bank Pavilion, and club gigs at spots like the House of Blues and MGM Music Hall at Fenway.
Let’s focus on that last venue, though. On Thursday, April 25, MGM Music Hall has Judas Priest headlining. Rob Halford & co. are touring behind their new album Invisible Shield, out now. They’ll be supported by Sabaton. Any opportunity to see The Metal God in person should be taken full advantage of, so mark down Thursday, April 25 on your concert calendar. We’ll be there.

Next, we turn our attention to another act that has a new album out. But they’re about as far from metal as you can get. The Black Crowes bring their Happiness Bastards Tour to MGM Music Hall on Sunday, April 28. The new album sounds fantastic–we’ve been playing the song “Wanting And Waiting”–and the Brothers Robinson always put on a killer live show. Even if it’s just the two of them.
Lastly, we have a band on their last tour. Canadian pop-punks SUM 41 are calling it quits. The Tour of the Setting Sum rolls into MGM Music Hall on Tuesday, April 30. The Interrupters are supporting. So that’s a helluva three-show set of Boston rock shows in April. Keep scrolling for the links to enter to win tickets. And for a bit of music from each of the headlining acts.
