Is This The #1 Best High School Prank Ever?
Ah, the classic high school prank – a time-honored tradition where mischief meets creativity.
I know a guy who Vaseline-d all the the doorknobs in high school. (Well, maybe not all, but quite a few.)
There are locker pranks (filling some up with balloons or – heaven forbid – GLITTER. Rearranging furniture. Setting up a hallway blockade. Toilet papering.
But in today’s world of heightened security and surveillance, pulling off a memorable prank can feel like trying to sneak past a sleeping dragon. (OK, I’m in a Game of Thrones mood here.)
Yet, leave it to the ingenuity of high schoolers to find a way.
Take, for instance, the recent escapade at a high school in Illinois.
The target?
None other than the principal himself, Mr. Robison.
Now, what devious scheme did these cunning students devise?
They hired a bagpiper named Scott Whitman to shadow Mr. Robison as he went about his day.
High School Prank Pivot
It turns out, this bagpipe serenade wasn’t the initial plan. The pranksters had grander ambitions. They first set their sights on hiring a mariachi band to accompany Mr. Robison on his daily rounds.
Alas, their dreams were dashed by the harsh reality of budget constraints. So, Plan B it was, and this Plan B stood for better.
Scott Whitman, a seasoned bagpiper accustomed to solemn occasions like funerals and joyous celebrations like weddings, became a high school hero and the star of a high school prank.
Scott himself admitted that this was a first – a senior prank to add to his repertoire of gigs. And the students?
They couldn’t have been more thrilled with the results, declaring it even better than their mariachi pipe dream.
As for Mr. Robison, he proved himself to be a true sport. Rather than raining down punishment on the mischievous masterminds behind the stunt, he commended them for their creativity and, importantly, their consideration for the cleanliness of the school premises. No damage, no mess – just a good-natured prank that brought smiles to all involved.
The art of the senior prank may seem like a dying tradition. But as long as there are inventive minds and a willingness to toe the line between mischief and mirth, rest assured, the spirit of pranksterism will endure –bagpipes and all.
