How did Margaritaville start?
It all started with Jimmy Buffett, the man behind the tunes that make us dream of sandy beaches and umbrella drinks.
Back in 1977, Buffett crooned about “Margaritaville,” a mythical place where life is easy, and worries vanish like bubbles in a blender. Well, guess what? That daydream became a reality! Buffett kicked off the Margaritaville lifestyle. It wasn’t long before beachy bars, resorts, and merch were born. Margaritaville isn’t just a brand; it’s a way of life, where the sun always shines, and the margaritas flow like a never-ending waterfall.
What happened to Jimmy Buffett?
Buffett, who died September 2, 2023 at the age of 76. Buffet had Merkel cell cancer. Merkel cell cancer is very rare, according to the National Cancer Institute. Risk factors include sun exposure, having a weak immune system and being older than 50. Buffet’s last show was in Rhode Island in July of 2023. Fun fact: Buffett’s only pop hit was “Margaritaville,” but his businesses made him a millionaire a few times over. Buffett is survived by his wife, Jane Slagsvol, two daughters, Savannah Jane and Sarah Delaney, and son Cameron Marley.
