Pint of real ale on the bar in a traditional English pub in the United Kingdom

If we were to ask you where in the world the record for number of pubs visited in one day was broken, you may guuess the United States of America, Canada, Germany or Italy. Or, perhaps the United Kingdom (you know that one of Dave's relatives in Ireland could easily shatter this record). All of those are great guesses, but the one location missing from the list is Australia and that's where it happened!
Harry Kooros and Jake Loiterton, both 26-year-old men from Australia, set a new Guinness World Record after they visited 99 pubs in the Sydney area, all in one day. If your concerned about the duo ending up in a hospital with alcohol poisoning, it is important to point out that they only had to visit the pubs and drink something, not necessarily an alcoholic beverage.
Their original plan was to visit 100 pubs and to have an alcoholic beverage at every second location, but were forced to reconsider, due to Sydney's strict intoxication laws. Their final tally also fell one pub short of their original goal of 100 after a counting error. Needless to say, 99 pubs in one day is still an impressive achievement and we assume they were plenty bombed, even after declining to order alcohol at more than half of their stops.
Kooros and Loiterton shattered the previous record, which was set by Heinrich de Villiers of South Africa after he visited 78 pubs in 24 hours last year. Could you break either record? If you were to set a world record, what would it be?
