Great News For “Home Improvement” Fans
Is television about to get some much needed Improvement?
Great News for Home Improvement fans! Tim Allen says there’s potential for a “Home Improvement” spinoff. It would take place in the future where his character is a grandfather.
The show originally aired for eight seasons on ABC, from 1991 to 1999.
It was one of the most popular sitcom of the 90’s and it made Tim Allen a household name. His character was likable and relatable to the average American who either was a lot like him or knew somebody who was.
Home Improvement was a big hit
The show never finished the broadcast year ranked outside of the top 1o. That’s incredible when you think of all of the great shows in the 90’s. That was the decade of Cheers, Seinfeld, Friends, Frasier, Coach, Murphy Brown, Law and Order, Roseanne, Everybody Loves Raymond and E.R.
Home Improvement ranked as high as number 2 twice in the 90’s. With all of that stiff competition that’s an amazing achievement. It doesn’t get the much deserved respect that all of those shows received and continue to this day. You can still see most of the other shows on cable in syndication. If you want to watch Home Improvement you can stream all the seasons on Hulu.
Tim the Grandpa?
Quote, “One of the conversations we’ve had recently is how weird it would be if [the show] would be about the kids’ kids. Like if all of them had children, and I’m a grandparent. ‘Home Re-Improvement’ or something like that.” Tim says he never felt like the story was done. Quote, “It never felt right. In the time off, [the cast] got real close where we talked to everybody.”
It wouldn’t be a stretch to see Tool Time Tim as a grandfather. He was born for the role, heck he has already played Santa Claus on several big screen movies. Who is more grandfatherly than Santa?
