Massachusetts and New Hampshire – Here’s Some GREAT News if You’re Looking to Sell Your Home
The housing market has slowed down a bit. Some experts expect home prices to start dropping soon. BUT! There is good news for residents looking to sell their home in Massachusetts and New Hampshire especially: houses are selling the fastest there.
This finding according to Agent Advice who crunched data to rank all 50 states in the United States on how long houses average being on the market before being sold.
While Massachusetts and New Hampshire sell the fastest (I’ll tell you just how fast in a sec), New York didn’t fare so well finishing dead last. Houses in New York currently take the longest to sell – the average home stays on the market there for 61.5 days before selling.
Let’s go through every state in New England:
Rhode Island tied for 5th fastest selling houses in the country. The average home in Rhode Island sells in 35.5 days. Rhode Island tied Arizona for that fifth best finish.
In Maine the average house sells in 46.5 days. In Vermont it’s 54 days. Connecticut homes average staying on the market for 39.5 days.
Now on to the top of the list, and the good news for homeowners thinking of selling in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Houses are selling fastest in these two states, tied for #1 in the US. The average house stays on the market for just 32 days before a sold sign is plunked into the yard in front of it.
Montana came in second slowest to sell, right behind New York, and followed by West Virginia, Mississippi, and Louisiana in 3rd, 4th, and 5th respectively.
