Sometimes a vacation isn't the same without your four-legged friend. The joy of exploring new places is amplified when your furry companion is by your side, wagging their tail in excitement. Fortunately, the modern hospitality industry has recognized this bond and responded by welcoming pets into their establishments.

USA Today, 10Best curated a list of the ten best pet-friendly hotels in the United States. They had a group of experts put forward the nominees. Then their editors narrowed it down to the final ones. From there, readers got to have their say and vote on the top winners.

The list includes pet-friendly hotels located everywhere from Sonoma, California, and New York City, to Bristol, Virginia, and Memphis, Tennessee.

Boston hotel ranks in the top 5

Securing the 5th spot, the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston gained recognition. The travel website featured its Furiend package, which includes a guide to dog-friendly attractions, a unique biscuit box, and a complimentary dog grooming session. Those longing for their own furry companions, can also meet Fairmont's Canine Ambassador, Cori Copley, who greets guests while on duty in the lobby.

According to Bring Fido, a brand focused on pet travel and lifestyle, Boston has a grand total of 183 hotels that are pet-friendly, each with its specific set of rules. These regulations range from exclusively accommodating small dogs to warmly welcoming larger ones, and even permitting stays with multiple dogs.

America's best pet-friendly hotel

Leading their selection is The Peabody Memphis in Tennessee. Known for its lobby fountain's mallard ducks, this upscale hotel is a standout. Apart from its lobby ducks, The Peabody extends its hospitality to pets as well. Nevertheless, pets are required to be on a leash or kept in a carrier while in public spaces.
