Hot Stove Cool Music Celebrates 2013 World Series Champion Red Sox
Hot Stove Cool Music, which has been entertaining Boston fans and raising funds for years, is back with a special celebration.
The Off The Mound Party, slated for Saturday, April 15, will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the 2013 Red Sox World Series run. And if you’re going to celebrate the Sox, you’d better have some Sox on hand at the celebration, right? They will. Former Red Sox stars Bronson Arroyo, Ryan Dempster, and Jake Peavy will join Hot Stove mainstay Peter Gammons and Kay Hanley of beloved Boston band Letters To Cleo. You know how much we love Kay and Letters to Cleo. We hosted them at the Paradise just last year.
If you’re a Hot Stove Cool Music veteran like I am, you know what’s in store. Speaking of the Paradise, I can remember taking in some of the early Hot Stove fundraisers in that room back in the day. Don’t sleep on Peter Gammons: the Gam Man throws down some tasty licks. That being said, this Off The Mound Party will have a bit of a different flavor than previous events. As always, funds will be raised for the Foundation To Be Named Later, which was founded by former Red Sox General Manager Theo Epstein.

So what’s different? This time, the fun happens at City Winery. And after Kay and the Gam Man invite their friends on stage to jam, Ryan Dempster will bring his late-night style Off The Mound show to the stage. The evening will close out with a set from Bronson Arroyo and the ’04 Band. They released a new album earlier this year, and played in Somerville back in January.
A great time for a great cause. Get the rest of the details and your tickets here.
