Here’s a Couple of Covers You Weren’t Expecting But Need to Hear

Cover songs. I obsess over them. So anytime one pops up in my feed, I’m all over it. Even if it’s unexpectedly unconventional.
Case in point: Hildegard von Blingin’, a modern-day artist who nicked their name from Hildegard of Bingen, a German composer from about 1000 years ago. Von Blingin’ covers modern-day songs with Medieval flair. In other words, Radiohead’s “Creep” sounds like it’s about 1000 years old, right down to the re-worked lyrics. Pretty funny.
Coming back to the present-day, we have pop star James Blake covering Nirvana for charity. Nothing Medieval here, just a super-smooth, piano-driven take on “Come As You Are.” It’s…nice.
