As the Coronavirus crisis drags on, it's encouraging to see so many funds spring up to benefit struggling local musicians and venue staff.
The mission statement of the Boston Venue Unity Fund is "to provide financial support to Boston musicians and others in the performing community who are in need by engendering public awareness and participation." The fund has grown out of Boston Venue: The Channel Story, a locally-produced podcast that's been walking listeners through the history of legendary Boston rock venue The Channel.
The Unity Fund takes direct donations, is working to match those who have resources with those who need resources, and is also running a silent auction and a series of upcoming events. Click here to get involved.
