Gibbons said that he and Grohl were collaborating with Homme on a new Queens of the Stone Age album and telling eonmusic, "Just one month ago I was making a record with Queens of the Stone Age...I was talking with Josh just yesterday, and I was very excited...We had gone to the desert to work on just a couple of tracks, and I was outside, and Josh came out of the studio, and he had this box, and it was making some strange noise, and I said, 'hey, what is that?', and he goes, "I don't know, I just found it.' I said, 'Don't touch a thing; we're going to use it for the song!' So that's how it started."
Fans, however, have taken to Reddit and are suspecting the new music Gibbons was talking about may not be for a QOTSA album but for another one of Homme's Desert Sessions project. Homme and Grohl recently touched on doing another Desert Sessions project last month on Homme's The Alligator Radio Hour, too.
Whatever is going on, fans will certainly keep their ears out for this project.
