The Empire Strikes Back

The greatest of all Star Wars films.

Last year, in honor of #MayThe4th and #RevengeOfThe5th, I ranked Star Wars Episodes I-IX. I'm going back to the rankings because I have Star Wars on the brain.

Why do I have Star Wars on the brain? Because ROCK 92.9 has your chance to be the first to experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in an all-immersive, two-night adventure at Walt Disney World Resort. All you have to do is go here and show us why you're Boston's biggest Star Wars fan. Then check out my rankings below. Then yell at me, if you so choose to.

9. Attack of the Clones

Still the worst of the bunch. Always will be.

8. Revenge of the Sith

I stand by my original take that he Yoda scenes and the Obi-Wan vs. Anakin battle redeem this one. But...

7. The Phantom Menace

...that Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn vs. Darth Maul battle scene is an all-timer.

6. The Last Jedi

Again, Episode VIII gets a bad rap. It's an incredibly well-done Star Wars movie, polarizing, yes. But such a fun watch.

5. The Rise of Skywalker

I wanted to bump this up a notch because Babu Frik, but...

4. The Force Awakens

...the magic of Episode VII is undeniable and still as captivating today as it was 5 years ago.

3. A New Hope

I had Episode IV in the two-spot last time around, but then I remembered how whiny Luke was. Demoted.

2. Return of the Jedi

Again, the fun factor and rewatchability (is that a word?) of Jedi is still strong in the force.

1. The Empire Strikes Back

The greatest of all Star Wars films, still.
