Wicked Holiday Guide

It’s a home we’ve spent part of the holidays in for almost 40 years… and it’s up for sale. Now you can curse out the furnace, dream about getting your own Red Ryder rifle, and eat mashed potatoes like mommy’s little piggy in the home from ‘A Christmas Story.’ The house was just listed for sale. Here’s everything you need to know as a fake prospective buyer! I’ll include the actual listing at the end as well so you can virtually mosey on your own.

  • Where is it located?

    3159 West 11th Street
    Cleveland, Ohio

  • When was the house built and does it need any renovations?

It was built in 1895 and yes, it sure does need a little TLC to restore it to it’s movie star looks, but hey the movie was 39 years ago – most Hollywood stars would have had lots of TLC procedures during that time.

  • What are the specs?

Well, you get the whole “campus.” Yes, they call it a campus. It includes: The house, Museum, Gift Shop & Parking, the Bumpus House & Parking Lot, plus more private and public parking, and a rental property as well.

  • Did you say it includes a Museum and Gift Shop?

Yes I did. According to the house’s website (oh yes it has one of those too), “Annual paid admissions boast over 75,000 attendees and many more visit the Gift Shop.” Get ready to run that.

  • Can people tour the house?

All year they can, yes. You’ll need to keep that up too. 60-minute guided tours start up every half hour beginning at 10:15am. The House ranked fourth on Trip Advisor’s “Top Attractions in Cleveland” list.

  • Does the house get random packages labeled "FRAGILE" delivered regularly?

Not that we know of, no.

  • So.... how much?

We have no idea. Even though so much has been disclosed about the house and the museum and the gift shop and the parking lots, one thing that has not been disclosed is the price. I’m guessing that means it’ll be a pretty penny.

  • Want to see the listing?

HERE YOU GO! If you buy it, can I come visit? Thanks.
