One Massachusetts Beach has made the Top 10 list of Best Beaches in the U.S.A.
What makes a perfect beach?
That’s a hard question to answer because it’s entirely a subjective thing. Do you like your beach quiet and remote with only a few people on it with you. Maybe you like to read a book at the beach and prefer it to be a serene experience. For others they might prefer a more hectic scene with lots of people and umbrellas, music coming from everywhere, kids playing in the surf and tossing footballs and frisbees.
I like both ways
For me, I can enjoy just about any beach as long as the weather is nice and sunny and I can find a nice spot to put our chairs down and the umbrella up. We love to bring a cooler and enjoy a nice tuna sandwich with potato chips crammed in. A small blue tooth speaker playing our favorite radio station playing great tunes, but no so loud that we would get dirty looks from beach goers who prefer a totally quiet experience. Don’t get me wrong, I still want to hear the waves crashing and the sounds of chatter and laughter.
The authority on beaches
Dr. Beach is the authority on the perfect beaches and has dedicated his life to finding the best in the world. Every year he rolls out his Top 10 Best Beaches in the U.S.A. and he uses 50 different criteria to determine the list. The beaches that score the most make the top 10. Some of the criteria are Sand Softness, Water and Air Temperature, Wind Speed, Amounts of Sunny vs Rainy Days, Color of Sand, Size of Waves and even Water Color and Smells.
The Dr. has spoken
This year’s Top 10 Beaches are found coast to coast and all the way to Hawaii but only one beach from New England made the list and it’s in Massachusetts. Maybe you’re familiar with it, or maybe now you will make it a destination this summer.
