Tommy Lee came through in a pinch to help his wife, Brittany Furlan Lee, who was recently dealing with very painful period cramps.

Furlan Lee brought this up to Brittany Schmitt, with whom she co-hosts the This Is the Worst podcast. She explains that when she was struggling with camp, Lee told her, "Why don't you drink some pickle juice?" Furlan Lee questioned his suggestion, but Lee said he recently saw a video on Instagram that touted pickle juice as a way to reduce period cramps.

Furlan Lee then proceeded to drink some pickle juice from a jar of pickles in the fridge, and within about five minutes, she said her cramps were "at a minimum." She later talked about this remedy on TikTok, and people in the comments touted the remedy for its electrolytes.

The pickle juice remedy was also given the thumbs-up by Dr. Joe Whittington, who shared on TikTok in a reaction video to Furlan Lee, "Drinking pickle juice for menstrual cramps can be effective due to its high electrolyte content, particularly sodium and potassium, which can help ease muscle cramps. The vinegar in pickle juice may also promote muscle relaxation and reduce pain by stabilizing blood sugar levels."

However, Dr. Whittington did note, "While anecdotal evidence supports its use, it's best to drink in moderation, as the high sodium content could pose risks for those with certain health conditions."
