In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night (May 20), the Atlas star recalled the time she met Barbra Streisand. Lopez, 54, said the Funny Girl star, 82, was very kind and even commented on the engagement ring she received from Affleck, 51, during the first time the couple was engaged.

"'So that's a big diamond,'" the singer and actress remembered Barbra telling her. "I was like, 'Yes, it is.'" Lopez said Streisand also gave her acting advice and asked her how she dealt with all the fame, all while thinking, "You're the most famous person ever." The mom of two added that meeting Streisand was "so surreal" and that she was "just so taken by her."
Lopez has long been a fan of Streisand. In her companion film, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, she said her and Affleck love Streisand's 1973 film, The Way We Were. In the documentary, she said she and Ben watched the romance drama 20 years ago and it was the last thing they watched together before they broke up.
Lopez told EW that it is one of their favorite movies of all time. "It was special to me," Lopez said of the film. "Plus, I'm a huge Barbra Streisand fan. My mother really imparted [this movie] to me. That was her favorite romantic movie growing up. So it has a lot of significance for me."
This wasn't the only time Lopez brought up Ben during her Monday appearance. While discussing her upcoming tour, she was asked if her teenage twins Max and Emme would be joining her on the road. And while Lopez noted they'll be there for "some of it," she admitted "they don't want to be with mom all the time" now that they're 16.
"It's awkward for them," she explained. "I also do sexy things on stage. They're like, 'Who are you right now?' 'Cause they see me at home with a bun and no makeup and barefoot." When host Kimmel asked if she does sexy things at home, she replied, "I do do sexy things at home sometimes, but they don't know that."
What Are The Split Rumors Between Ben And Jen?
Though neither partner has publicly shut down or confirmed the split rumors, it has been noticed that they have not attended red carpet events recently, nor have they been spotted out together in a month until recently. Jen was just in Hollywood attending the premiere for Atlas solo. Multiple outlets report that the two are also not living together anymore. Ben was caught by gossip site TMZ for not wearing his wedding ring over the weekend. But he and Lopez were hanging out as recently as two days ago and both were wearing their rings.
Regardless of how the couple is going to work through any issues in their marriage, J-Lo spent a lot of time and energy on her new album and documentary surrounding her romance with Ben. As one person perfectly said it on X (formerly Twitter), "A divorce after that album and documentary and film is CRAZY. And all her friends said don’t make this film cus what if you breakup shshdhdhdhhdhd."
Celebrities and Fans React To Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Marriage
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married over the weekend in Las Vegas after previously being engaged 20 years ago before calling it quits.
Writing to her On The JLo newsletter, Lopez, 52, said, "We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient."
She continued to say that their elopement was "exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world," adding that they only wished "for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage."
The Hollywood "It" couple kept their attire simple, with J-Lo wearing "a dress from an old movie" and Ben wearing "a jacket from Ben’s closet." Lopez said it was the "best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last."
Lopez said of their relationship, "When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another. We had that. And so much more. Best night of our lives. They were right when they said, 'all you need is love.' We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to. Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive-through in Las Vegas at twelve-thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive-through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for."
The singer and actress signed the newsletter, "With love, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck."
News of the nuptials traveled fast, with celebrities and fans alike wishing the couple congratulations. Vanessa Hudgens told E! News of her Second Act co-star, "I was literally scrolling through Instagram and I saw that and I gasped."
On Instagram, Vanessa Bryant wished Lopez congratulations, while Hoda Kotb wrote, "Love is patient and right on time. Congrats my darling."
Fans congratulated the couple on getting hitched, while others sought this opportunity to troll the "Love Don't Cost A Thing" singer, who has famously been married several times and in many relationships. See their reactions below:
