Scott Weiland’s Son Releases Track Featuring Late Father’s Vocals
Scott Weiland’s son, Noah Weiland, has released a new song titled “Time Will Tell.” The track notably features previously unreleased vocals from his late father.
The song was uploaded to YouTube and can be heard below. The clip’s description on YouTube reads, “I LOVE YOU DAD, KEEPING YOUR NAME ALIVE.” The upload of “Time Will Tell” just features what appears to be the single’s artwork, which is a photo of Noah as a young child with Scott.
(NOTE: It’s accompanied by a “Parental Advisory” sticker, so be warned that some NSFW language is ahead.)
In an Instagram post about the track, Noah writes, “Can’t believe I’m saying this right now, but basically, I been getting blackmailed by a random number that somehow has a very old version of a song I have with my father.”
Noah continues, “And because of that, I am basically forced to release a song I had no intentions of releasing until way further into my career cause this coward really thinks I’m about to send them $2k to not leak it. Sooo, I beat ’em to the punch. Funny enough, I saw ‘TIME WILL TELL’ written on a bathroom wall the day I got that txt. Maybe my dad thought it was time?”
Noah concludes by writing, “After years of struggling with addiction, homelessness, people hiding my dad’s money, liars, backstabbers, growing up too fast, losing my bro Gio, old friends turned foes, I been through a lot, but the person I was years ago is FAR from who I am now.”
Scott Weiland Biopic
In June 2021, The Hollywood Reporter reported a new film based on the Weiland memoir Not Dead & Not for Sale by David Ritz was in the works at Dark Pictures, a new female-led production company that focues on “true stories.”
At the time, The Hollywood Reporter noted, “Jennifer Erwin, a diehard Stone Temple Pilots fan who co-founded Dark Pictures with Anne Beagan, will pen the script for the film adaptation of Weiland’s life that is set to meld rock stardom with a moving love story, the rock band frontman plunged into addiction and then fighting his way back to the top with comebacks.”
Erwin said in a statement, “It’s an honor to have the trust to tell Scott’s story and the ability to portray the lesser known sides of him – the loving and tender man he was, the high school athlete he was, the melancholy soul he was and the legendary frontman that he will always be.”
The Weiland biopic is far from the only music biopic currently in the works. Keep scrolling to learn about some other music biopics that have been reported in recent years.
