The expanded menu for winter doesn't just cover drinks. There are some exciting food options coming our way, as well.
New Winter Menu Items At Starbucks
This week, Starbucks added a new drink to its permanent menu with the Iced Shaken Hazelnut Oat Milk Espresso. Sounds as delicious as it is long. Seriously, that's a mouthful. Hopefully a tasty mouthful, at that. The new drink has a blonde espresso base, shaken with hazelnut syrup, and then topped with oat milk, per People.
For the winter, Starbucks announced it will be re-introducing the Pistachio Latte and the Pistachio Cream Cold Brew. Those will both be available for a limited time only. The chain unveiled the drink last year and it was incredibly popular.
As I said earlier, it's not all about the beverages. This winter, you'll be able to get the new Potato, Cheddar, & Chive Bake while supplies last. There's also a Vanilla Bean Custard Danish available for the Winter. I'm a sucker for the Iced Lemon Loafs, so it will be hard to pull me away from those.
Changes To Starbucks Bring Your Own Cup Policy
Additionally, Starbucks has made changes to their Bring Your Own Cup policy. Now, you'll be allowed to use your own clean, personal cup for every visit at Starbucks. That includes in-store visits, drive-thru, and mobile orders. According to Starbucks.com, "Starbucks is the only national coffeehouse in the U.S. to offer customers the option to use their personal cup when they make a mobile order and the first in Canada to offer mobile order for all drinks and sizes."
This is an important decision. Not only for us as customers, but for the bigger picture. The move shows Starbucks commitment to reduce waste by 50% by 2030. Allowing customers to use their own cups instead of creating more garbage will be helpful in achieving that goal.
Starting this week, customers can use their personal cup at the drive-thru and on mobile orders. Previously, you could only use the cups in-store. Now, you can score that sweet, sweet discount any way you'd like. If you choose to use the drive-thru, just tell your barista that you brought your own cup.
Not into Starbucks? Hey, that's fine. I'm just updating you on the new offerings. Dunkin has a great rewards program that I always enjoy, if you haven't checked that out.
5 Bands/Musicians with Their Own Coffee Brands
Bands and musicians with their own beer/liquor brands is very on trend, but another beverage venture that’s been very popular in recent years has been rockers launching their own coffee brands.
Just how popular is coffee in the rock community? Here are five bands/musicians with their own coffee brands.
Green Day

Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt launched Oakland Coffee Works in 2015. Recently they annouced a new label under their brand: 'Father Of All...' Dark Roasts, which is billed to "kick your ass and soothe your soul." In addition to the coffee itself, there’s a line of merch as well.
Korn

Korn launched their coffee brand in Fall 2018. Its name? Korn Koffee, because if they actually spelled coffee with a “C,” that would be just weird.
Kirk Hammett

The Metallica guitarist partnered with Dark Matter coffee to create his special blend called Ghoul Screamer likely due to his horror film fandom.
Dave Ellefson

The former Megadeth bassist launched his Ellefson Coffee Co. a few years ago, and in addition to selling a variety of different roasts, Ellefson also sells different coffee edibles like chocolate-covered espresso beans dubbed “Atomic Rocks.”
Joey Kramer

Aerosmith’s drummer has had a lot of success with his Rockin’ & Roastin’ coffee brand, and even though his own coffee shop only lasted a year, fans can still buy his brew through a subscription service at RockinAndRoastin.com.
