The fear and panic that sets in when you’re running late for a flight. We’ve all felt it. Traffic screeches to halt. Time seems to speed up and there’s nothing you can do but…wait. How about being in an Uber and you aren’t even in control of your speed. A woman in Austin, Texas couldn’t take it anymore. This woman stole an Uber to make her flight.
Woman Stole an Uber to Make Her Flight
A 27-year-old woman named, Neusha Afkami, is from California and was in Austin, Texas headed to catch a flight in an Uber. And, according to reports from Fox7, she was upset with how slow her Uber driver was driving and took matters into her own hands. Afkami took the Uber driver’s phone and threw it out of the window, causing the driver to stop. According to Fox7, Afkami jumped into the driver’s seat while the driver was getting her phone and took off, leaving the Uber driver stranded.
Well, according to Fox7, Afkami not only stole an uber, but she also stole the driver’s wallet and used her credit card several times. The suspect was arrested by police prior to boarding her flight and was booked at the Austin Police Department.

According to a 2018 study from Forbes.com, one in every seven travelers missed a flight due to long airport security lines. This is a major reason why you must show up early to the airport. It doesn’t explain stealing an Uber to beat the long security lines but running late isn’t atypical. Also, around two-thirds of travelers say airport security lines affects they way they pack for a trip. It also affects the time they choose to arrive at the airport, Forbes.com.
