Now that it is officially December, holiday-themed everything will be taking over the city. Here, we will outline an unforgettable holiday dining experience in Boston.

What do you look for when deciding upon the perfect place to have a festive holiday gathering? Ideally here, we are thinking about larger-sized groups.  You are celebrating while you are being celebrated. Or, it could be a more concise evening dinner, where you are meeting with a select group of friends and family to have your annual holiday meal. It’s a party where you leverage the giving spirit of the holiday season and toast the opportunity to be together. That’s what we are going for here.

Now, on to the food. It would be easy to say this is the secondary part of the equation where the food portion “doesn’t matter; it’s the company.” Well, let’s be honest. A delicious menu certainly helps make this an occasion you really look forward to each year. The choices here center around large plates that are passed around and shared with the entire table, or a high-end meal where you savor every bite.

Whether you have tickets to the Pops or are heading out with coworkers, a restaurant like Maggiano's Little Italy is sure to have something for everyone. The interior is festive with a feel like you are a guest in someone's living room. Expect soft holiday music overhead, while you share large plates of chicken parmesan.

If your preference is more of an upscale steakhouse, Grill 23 in December is a home run. This, too, is decked out in garland, holiday lights, and themed music. Grill 23 understands that when you are there this time of year, there's a good chance you are celebrating and enjoying the holiday spirit. They make the effort and take pride in being part of your special occasion.

For a nightcap, head across town to the Liberty Hotel lounge. They have perfectly light Christmas trees literally hanging upside down, inside from the ceiling.

After your holiday dining hours in Boston, take a casual walk around the given neighborhood. You are bound to come across decorative lights set up on every block.

On the edge of Weymouth, less than a mile from the Hingham border, an Italian restaurant is already bringing the holiday joy. The Venetian is filled with holiday spirit. That is because this South Shore Massachusetts restaurant has completely turned into a holiday wonderland.

Located at 909 Broad St, The Venetian stands prominently upon this main road. Its natural red accented décor certainly made it an ideal spot to turn into a magically themed establishment this season.

On November 1, the restaurant opened its doors and welcomed guests to enjoy a meal seated within a Christmas extravaganza. From the front bar to the more private back room, each area is completely decorated in holiday cheer.

Here is what you will find. Over 5,000 ornaments hang from the ceiling. Fully lit Christmas trees, surrounded by presents, are in the corners of each room. Then, you will find snow-covered polar bear arrangements in the setup in the middle of a few rooms. In addition, the garland is delightfully wraps each beam and banister in sight. Piping into each room, you will hear classic holiday music to further set the tone.

This 2023 holiday season is the first time this popular restaurant is reshaping into what they are calling their "Holiday Pop-Up." The interior decorations took three full days to set up. In total, 15 workers per day worked tirelessly to build, setup, and design this winter wonderland. The fact that the restaurant already had red-colored booths only enhances the look. Inspired by Rolfs in New York City, The Venetian has certainly set the table for their community to have a memorable holiday season.

Management at this fine-dining restaurant graciously opened their doors to us to attempt to capture the magical setting in photos. During our time, guests of all ages walked in for their reservations (which you will need). Each of them had a delighted reaction, usually followed by a "wow" and cheerful smile.
