National Coffee Day is on September 29, and coffee lovers have a lot to look forward to in Massachusetts. The state is home to various coffee shops that pride themselves on roasting their own beans, creating unique coffee drinks, and offering environments that reflect the local vibe.

This trend isn't unique to Massachusetts. It's happening all across the United States. Tasting Table, a digital media company focusing on food and drink, set out to find the best coffee shop in each state by enlisting the help of locals, internet experts, and their own experiences. Their discovery? No matter where you are in America, there's a local coffee spot that can provide a more memorable and genuine experience than the big national chains, they said on their website.

Where is the best coffee shop in Massachusetts?

Tasting Table crowned Curio Coffee in Cambridge as Massachusetts' top coffee shop. They praised its overall aesthetic and food options that pair well with their coffee.  Additionally, they spotlighted their Belgium waffle selection, saying that their waffles are so good you might forget the place also serves coffee.

The Cambridge coffee shop has a 4.5 out of 5-star rating on TripAdvisor, and many reviews support its reputation as a great place. One person shared their positive experience: "Incredibly well-prepared coffee, fantastic waffles, and lovely staff." Another customer chimed in, emphasizing how great their visit was, writing, "If you are looking for a magical caffeine experience accompanied by the sweetness of a waffle, this is your place!"

Curio Coffee officially opened in December 2015, establishing its presence with a café and roastery in the East Cambridge area. Their website lists a menu that offers espresso, americano, macchiato, mocha (featuring Taza chocolate), and various coffee concoctions, in addition to hot chocolate and waffles for customers to enjoy. Curio Coffee is located at 441 Cambridge St. in Cambridge,. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
