LARGEST Powerball Winning Ticket EVER: Massachusetts?

Now that I didn't win the Mega Millions or Powerball, where WAS the LARGEST Powerball winning ticket EVER, sold?

Well if I am writing this, it's proof that I did NOT win the Mega Millions BILLION dollar jackpot this week.

We Can Dream, Can't We?

I'm sure most of us that play the lottery have fantasized on how we'd spend the money. We also plan carefully on WHO we'd tell. I can hear the questions in my head now:

  1. Can I remain private? "Hey lottery, save the giant check, I'm invisible."
  2. How much of the extended family would I tell?
  3. How many friends, if any would I share the news with?
  4. Sure, I'd buy Mom a new house, but should I credit the fortune to, "smart real estate investments."
  5. How would this affect my marriage?
  6. What would I buy first, after I pay off my bills?
  7. How much would I donate to charity?
  8. Should I demand a hospital wing named after ME?
  9. Would I quit this job I love?
  10. Can my wife take me at home EVERY day?
  11. Do I know how to manage MILLIONS of dollars, properly?

I know I would buy a big Sea Ray boat and have it docked in Rhode Island, in front of my new ocean front home. At this new home, I'd throw a giant 200 person party for my closest friends and family, and shock everyone with surprise guest performer, Donny Osmond, followed by a meet and greet with Tom Brady. Hey, we can dream can't we?

The Big One!

So now that we have exhausted all dreams, questions and thinking, where WAS the LARGEST Powerball winning ticket EVER, sold?

6. $1.337 billion, Mega Millions, July 29, 2022 one ticket, from Illinois (I'd hire private security to follow me around.)

Feeling lucky? Are you a gambler? Maybe you want to take a ride to your local casino. Here in Massachusetts there are a few like Encore Boston Harbor, Plainridge Park and MGM Springfield where you can press your luck. But maybe you don’t want to take a ride several miles to win some money. The key to winning some serious cash is right down the street at your local convenience store.

Scratch tickets are all the rage here in Massachusetts. Back in 2020, we spent the most money out of any state in the country on lottery tickets. The average lottery player in Massachusetts spent about $1000 annually on tickets. That’s about $300 more than any state. What if you knew going into that store which lottery ticket was going to win? That may take the fun out of gambling but you’d be more apt to buy said ticket correct? Well that answer is right at the click of a button. The Massachusetts state lottery has a website where they literally put the odds of winning on each ticket. Knowing this information should make you better informed before buying your next ticket. That is, if you want to win.

Odds of winning are typically printed on the back of each lottery ticket. But we are going to do the work for you. Now, as you know, new tickets are being introduced each month. The newest and latest to come to Massachusetts is the $50 Billion Dollar Extravaganza game. So, you have to make sure you’re updating your list each month because odds can change month to month, meaning the ticket that could be the best odds of winning one month may not be the best odds of winning the next. This list is up to date and current. These are the 16 Massachusetts scratch tickets with the best overall odds of winning this month.
