Massachusetts Pickleball Court Named Coolest In The Country
The fastest-growing sport in America has certainly made its presence felt in New England. In recognition of the popularity of outdoor courts, USA Today‘s 10Best spotlighted unique places to play. A Massachusetts pickleball court was named one of the “coolest” in the country.
Pickleball, like tennis, has the flexibility to be played indoors and outdoors. In fact, many it is not uncommon to see pickleball played on a tennis court. Although pickleball is generally played on a smaller court, many tennis facilities are adding adjustable lines to accommodate both games. This approach is used at the facility in Massachusetts that was highlighted as one of the coolest places to play. Furthermore, they now have six courts that are dedicated to just pickleball. So, where is it?
Ocean Edge – Cape Cod
Tucked into both sides of Main Street in Brewster, Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club sits along Cape Cod Bay and offers every leisure activity you can think of. However, the Pickleball courts are in such demand; they usually require a reservation. The Mansion campus has most of the hotel guest accommodations. This is where you will also find the large green space with food and drink trucks and special events. Kayaks and standup paddle boarding are often found on its beachside area.
Across the street from the Mansion is where Ocean Edge golf course is located, in addition to their condos. This is also where you will find their bright blue pickleball courts. Located at Britterige Village, you can play singles or double on any of the six courts. If you are solo, Ocean Edge can match you up with another interested player. Lastly, Ocean Edge pickleball offers lessons and clinics due to the rising demand.

Ocean Edge on Cape Cod was the only pickleball place in New England featured by USA Today‘s 10Best. New York City’s Central Park courts were also mentioned, making them the only two spots on the east coast to crack the top ten. Other notable areas joining Massachusetts in the coolest place to play pickleball category were; Huntington Beach, CA, Oahu, HI and Cancun, Mexico.

3. Dennis Pickleball - South Dennis, MA
This has summer fun written all over it. Wixon courts provides 14 perfectly lined outdoor courts. By becoming a member of Dennis Pickleball, you have full access to this facility, as it is reserved for members only from May 10th to October 15th. Through the town of Dennis recreation you are able to not only become part of the group of players but an entire “friends of Dennis Pickleball” community. Perhaps the most unique pickleball experience in the area, PKL has a major wow factor. From its modern pink and teal branding to its engaging space monkey logo, PKL is a pickleball party.
