Elizabeth Olsen: Actors Should Not Sign Multiple Marvel Film Deals
Elizabeth Olsen doesn’t want actors to get stuck within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The WandaVision star advised actors in a recent interview against signing multiple-movie deals with Marvel. While promoting her new limited series Love & Death, the Avengers star spoke from her own experience on the topic.
“Just give them one — that’s what I say,” Olsen, 34, said of how future Marvel actors should handle the franchise. She said that by giving the studio one project, you have “more control.” Adding, “Let’s say you’re like, ‘Oh my God, this was the most fun I’ve ever had, and I love this character so much I want to do it again,’ you now have more creative control for the next one.” With a laugh, the actress said, “Don’t tell [David] Galluzzi that,” she said of Marvel’s “business affairs” executive.
Olsen has been vocal in the past about getting locked into a complicated contract, which prevented her from accepting other opportunities. Last June, during an appearance on The Tonight Show, she teased host Jimmy Fallon that she would be willing to reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff. “I don’t know [if I’m coming back]. I should come back. But I don’t know,” she said at the time. “I want fans to be so aggressive and terrify [Marvel] into doing it or something. I mean, that’s not a good way to do anything — actually, I really take that back. No one needs to use force.”

When asked if she’d be returning to the MCU, she said, “I hope so. They don’t tell me anything about my fate.” However, she said lated, “I would love to do more.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Elizabeth nonchalantly admits she “ruined” the ending of Avengers. A year before Infinity Wars came out, she said, “Everybody dies.” Defending her major spoiler, the actress said it would have had a reverse psychology effect on fans to “get them off your trail” because she was saying it. She added, “I have a feeling I’ve ruined multiple things many times, and no one’s ever talked to me about it.”
