Rick Allen took to social media to update fans on his health after being assaulted outside of a hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in March.
Allen shared a photo of himself wearing a very cool Joan Jett and the Blackhearts t-shirt. He captioned the photo, "Thank you all so very much for all of your love and support over the last month. I am still recovering and getting my mind and body ready for the upcoming Def Leppard tour. Just wanted to say hi and let you know, There Will Be Rock!"
As previously reported, Allen was standing near the valet area at the Four Seasons in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. smoking a cigarette. He was in town for a March 12 show with Def Leppard at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Per a police report from the incident, Allen was tackled to the ground by a 19-year-old man named Max Edward Hartley. This resulted in Allen hitting his head on the ground. Hartley then attacked a women who emerged from the hotel to help Allen. He was later arrested at a nearby hotel for breaking car windows. Hartley was charged with a number of crimes, including abusing an elderly or disabled adult.
