Metallica's All Within My Hands charitable foundation had a banner end to 2022, raising $3,000,000 for a variety of causes.
The massive sum came courtesy of the band's third Helping Hands Concert & Auction. You might remember it taking place in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theatre back in December. That's the one that was hosted by Jimmy Kimmell and streamed live on Paramount+. It was a killer show. St. Vincent joined the band for a cover of "Nothing Else Matters." You can revisit that here.
A killer show that raised a killer amount of money. Here's a quote from a recent press release:
“The funds raised from the Helping Hands Concert & Auction will have a lasting impact on [our] ability to grow our Metallica Scholars Initiative, combat hunger, and aid in response to natural disasters,” said Peter Delgrosso, Executive Director, All Within My Hands. “The Los Angeles event was the largest fundraiser in our history, and we profoundly appreciate the generosity of everyone involved. We could not have achieved these results otherwise."

Who were the beneficiaries, you might ask?
As part of the Helping Hands Concert & Auction, All Within My Hands honored several mission-aligned organizations and provided grants to each to donate additional resources, including: Baby2Baby, First Star, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, mikeroweWorks Foundation, and The Skatepark Project.
Workforce education, the fight against hunger, disaster relief...good on Metallica for using their might to raise a mighty amount of money to benefit these worthy causes. If you're a Boston-area Metallica fan and you're feeling inspired, look into MASSter of Puppets (Metclub Chapter of Massachusetts). We've worked with theme here at ROCK 92.9 and they do an excellent job of raising funds for All Within My Hands on a local level.
