Daniel Craig now knows that he's a popular meme on the internet, more than a year and a half later.

The James Bond actor, 53, who retires from the spy franchise this year with No Time to Die, was asked about his viral weekend meme from Saturday Night Live in a recent interview with The New York Times.

"What is that?" Craig asked reporter Dave Itzkoff, who brought up the fact that every Friday, Twitter is flooded with GIFs and video clips of Craig's hosting appearance on SNL from March 2020, specifically the moment when he's introducing the night's musical guest for the second time.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the Weeknd," he says with the perfect shoulder shrug and a sigh of relief when we embrace the weekend — the two-day-long break from work, not the singer.

Even the Weeknd got in on the fun this May:

Even after the meme and people's love for it was explained to him, Craig said, "They do? It's amazing. I don't know what that is, but thank you. That's lovely. I suppose I'd have to have social media to know what that was all about."

There's even a Twitter page dedicated to posting the weekend meme every weekend, including an edit for long, holiday weekends like this past Labor Day:
