Flag Day, the new Sean Penn vehicle, isn't exactly lighting up the world of cinema. But the soundtrack has given us a damn good cover song.
Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam throws down a pretty faithful cover of R.E.M.'s "Drive." Like, so faithful that it almost sounds like he went back to 1992, grabbed the Automatic for the People masters, took Michael Stipe's vocals out, and replaced them with his own. Listen.
The soundtrack, which released last Friday, also features Eddie's daughter Olivia Vedder, accompanied by her dad and Glen Hansard. Pretty cool!
